Pretty Blue Pill

Communism, Fascism, Socialism

I was reading a blog yesterday where the writer was expounding on the wonderful merits of socialism, and apparently trying to convince others (and himself) that socialism is better than communism because people still have the right to own property. And whereas communism is inherently atheistic, socialism values all religious contributions to the global community.

Getting past the obvious utopian fluff, the fact is communism and fascism are both types of socialism. That’s why the second “s” in USSR stood for “Socialist.” That’s’ also why fascist Benito Mussolini admitted fascists were foremost socialists.

The difference between the two is that whereas the communist would say, “Workers unite,” the fascist would say, “Germans unite,” or “Italians unite.” In other words communism is based in class warfare whereas fascism is based in nationalistic pride.

But neither communism nor fascism nor socialism necessarily has anything to do with atheism as they are both economic, not religious, systems.

In the real world, however, they all seem to be packaged with beliefs that seem more compatible with religious skepticism or downright atheism than anything else. (There was not, in fact, much religious tolerance in France during its deChristianization efforts.)

That’s why Europe began its trek to socialism only after religious belief and practices declined considerably. Actually, I suppose you could argue the two happened in concert—the decline of religion and the increase of socialist beliefs occurred concurrently.

That’s something I always tell my more “enlightened” Christian friends. (Well, at least they think they’re enlightened.) Socialism is absolutely incompatible with Judeo-Christian beliefs.

And it’s always been that way…even in the Bible God tells Samuel that Israel has rejected Him, which is why they want a king. Beforehand, there was no king, but judges who judged based solely on God’s law. There was no concept of Church and State. The “Church” was the people and the people were the state.

And that tension has and will always exist between church and state because people are either going to look toward God as their source of ultimate security or they’ll look to the State. Consider the fact that much of the “new atheist” crowd, who claim as did Marx that religion is the opiate of the people, are almost always dependent on government monies for their research and livelihood and you’ll see my point.

Socialism continually claims a desire to help people as its prime motivation. But the most efficient way to help a person in need is to donate your money or your time to a charitable organization. Why introduce a government bureaucracy? It’s not that hard to find a person in need.

And that’s the difference between utopia and heaven on earth. But I’ll blog more about that another day.

Victims

Have you ever noticed that every part of the liberal agenda starts with a victim?

And why not? Getting the emotions stirred is probably the most sure-fire way to prevent good thinking. That’s why we conservatives seem so heartless to the typical liberal. When they’re outraged, we’re asking questions. And while they’re boo-hooing, we’re constructing logical arguments.

Now, I use the term victim loosely because typically a victim is someone who has been taken advantage of in some way by another person. We don’t usually use the term to refer to people who have been taken advantage of by themselves.

Maybe you can see where this is headed, but I caution you, don’t get me wrong. I’m not at all suggesting that everyone in America who is down on their luck is there because they’ve been stupid. But I am suggesting that it happens much more than you think.

I first became a conservative voter (I had always been a social conservative) by listening to my wife talk about her job. She worked as a social worker in Atlanta and in New Orleans when we moved there, and then in Atlanta again when we moved back after Katrina.

Most of her clients, personality-wise, were awesome people. I even had a chance to meet a few of them. But the single biggest problem she had dealing with them was the fact that none of them (and I mean none of them) made wise financial decisions.

They were trapped in a culture where it was acceptable to buy your kids $100 shoes, but depend on the government to get them food. Or they’d spend over $150 a month on cable television, but continually used the excuse that they couldn’t find a job because they didn’t own reliable transportation (and taking the bus is just so expensive, you know).

Naturally, after continually hearing this (and seeing it too), and then observing how my own family was scraping by while I was in school—my wife working full time in the midst of the most dangerous cities in the country, I worked five odd jobs while I was a full time student, working toward my Masters degree, and our daughter spent nine hours a day in daycare while my wife and I worked to pursue our dreams—I soon got over the bleeding heart liberal syndrome.

And the problem I have with liberal ideologues is that they encourage these people to see themselves as victims. They’re not at all interested in helping these people get out of the cycle of bad decisions while hard working tax payers foot the bill. Fixing the problem doesn’t give them a political advantage.

Which brings me to the point of this post: who’s really the victim in America today? Is it really the lazy welfare recipient sitting on the sofa watching Jerry Springer every day? Believe it or not, I’d say yes. Yes it is. Though not in the way liberals would say. They are actually the victims of a system that empowers them to live like this.

But we are also victims. Working class Americans who are making wise financial decisions, only to see their hard-earned money taken from them to expand the government and given to people who aren’t even trying to help themselves. That is very frustrating to say the least.

And who’s doing the victimizing? Well, I’ll leave that for you to figure out…

Liberal Kindness

One of the many things that frustrates me about liberals is the false impressions they create. For example, one of the talking points we’ll hear about over the next few weeks and months is the fact that conservatives don’t care about people, that we only care for ourselves.

And the tragedy is that many people—including conservatives—have come to believe that. And why not? It’s all you hear. Even the national media (maybe I should say, especially the nation media) plays into this notion. That Liberals are just the most caring folks. Meanwhile conservatives are busy hoarding all our dough.

The only problem with all this is that, like so much of modern Liberalism, it’s a complete lie.

Statistics show that conservatives are much more likely to donate their money and their time to charities (both religious and secular) than are liberals. Even though liberals actually make more money, a recent survey showed that conservative-headed households were 30% more likely to give to charity than liberal households.

In fact, if you split the 50 states in half based on giving (put the 25 most charitable states in group 1 and the 25 least charitable in group 2), in 2004 Bush won 24 of the 25 states in group 1.

So we conservatives believe the way to help people is to give our money. Unfortunately, liberals also believe the best way to help people is to give of OUR money. But they want to give our money to the government.

My point?

Conservatives want the same thing that liberals SAY they want. That is, to help people. But we have a different way to accomplish it. And the fact is: YOUR WAY ISN’T WORKING!

Liberals have been “helping” black people for 40 years. And look at what’s happened during that time. The black family has been destroyed, STD instances have skyrocketed, there are more black men in jail than ever before, our race is dwindling because of 400,000 abortions a year (we used to be the largest minority group—not anymore), and 70% of our children are born into out of wedlock situations. None of these things were a problem before the socialists started “helping” us.

And the reality is that black people in America who live in areas where conservatives are political leaders are FAR (and I mean FAR) better off than blacks who live in areas dominated by liberal politicians. Socialism doesn’t work.

So please stop helping!

You’re killing us with kindness.

If you want to help, do what the Tuohy family, who inspired “The Blind Side” movie, did—find someone who needs help and HELP THEM!!!!

Why do you have to bring the government into it?

The truth is, you don’t. And you shouldn’t.

Delusion

Liberals are so delusional. I don’t say that to be mean, but because I honestly believe that a propensity toward delusion is a key requisite to being liberal. And of course the liberal media is there to assist you when reality starts to crowd in on you.

With regard to the massive health bill that Obama is set to sign into law today, Liberals have forgotten that the vast majority of Americans are against it. And that the main reason America elected Obama in the first place is because he posed as a moderate during the 2008 campaign.

But liberals have had a hard time in just about every election since the 2008 election. Why? Because the cat has now vacated the proverbial bag. Obama’s not just liberal, he’s an extremist—possibly socialist, depending on your definition. But one thing’s for sure—he’s not the moderate he played during the campaign.

Yet liberals have convinced themselves that this “victory” is something the American people wanted, even though polls show the opposite. But answer me this, if the American people wanted this, then why does Obama feel the need to “sell” this soon-to-be law to the public?

And with huge majorities in both the chambers of Congress, why did it take so long (and so many back room deals) to pass this legislation?

The fun part of all this will be hearing how liberals manage to keep the delusion going after November.

The Ugly Truth

Ugly Truth

Ugly Truth

Where’s the anger?

Where’s the venom?

Where’s the coverage?

When a right-wing extremist murdered abortion doctor, George Tiller, the establishment media (and much of the rest of the left) had a all-out ball reporting, laying blame, generalizing, and smearing the right.

Their logic went something like this:

Hey you know, one guy on your side committed murder. Therefore all you guys are murderers and extremists and need to be controlled.

Doesn’t the Ku Klux Klan employ similar reasoning?

Hey, one of you niggers raped a white woman, therefore you’re all rapists.

Never mind the fact that only about 14% of white women raped are raped by black men. Facts are such an inconvenience to those intent on hating an entire demographic.

But the difference is this; the Klan doesn’t run the national media.

Yesterday, an anti-abortion activist was targeted and killed by an abortion advocate. Not surprisingly, the press didn’t cover the story with nearly as much enthusiasm as the Tiller killing. Both murders were wrong, according to my beliefs. But for the media it seems that one was more newsworthy than the other.

Interesting. And telling for obvious reasons.

But the truly interesting thing here is the reason why the killing took place.

Evidently the alleged gunman didn’t like the fact that his victim, James Pouillon, held a sign that showed a healthy baby on one side with the caption LIFE, and an aborted (murdered) baby on the other side with the caption ABORTION.

What’s the big deal?

Well in case you’ve haven’t noticed, for many liberals (I won’t say all, for fear of committing the sin of generalizing myself) nothing gets their goat like the uncompromised truth. The last thing they want anyone to see is a real-life image of their version of “rights,” “freedom,” and “choice.”

It is a sad fact of life, manifested in that great time-honored tradition of killing the messenger. Many folks don’t want the truth, and will even kill you to avoid it.

Goodbye Free Press!

Joe Wilson

Joe Wilson

Liberals are at it again. They want you to be mad. Mad. MAD!!! Know why? Cause if you’re mad, then you’re not thinking. And the last thing liberals want you to do at this point is think.

They’ve certainly gotten a lot of mileage from this particular shtick, but I can’t say I blame them for digging in this well again.

It works.

I mean, why worry about the fact that your country is about to spend $790 billion when there’s a political cartoon to fume over? $80 million for an ice cutting boat? Did it stimulate the economy? Who has time to care or even notice? We were too mad over the chimp cartoon.

This time around it’s Joe Wilson’s heckling the president; calling him a liar during his monologue last night. (I emphasize the word “monologue” because in spite of the president’s words, the last thing he’s done concerning healthcare is engage in an actual dialog, which involves two people by the way, Mr. President. But I digress).

Wilson’s interruption was out of line, no question. We should have respect for the Office of the President of the United States even when the person holding that office doesn’t have respect for it. When the president is speaking to Congress, we must show courtesy to him or her, even when we don’t agree with the content of the speech.

Having said that, it is interesting that even with the media talking about this incident ad nauseum today, none of them has asked the one question which seems most relevant. Was Wilson right? Was he telling the truth? Is the president a liar. Specifically, is he lying about the details of his healthcare reform plans. Several independent experts think so. Most Americans think so. Fact is, most of us don’t buy the idea that this massive bill is going to cost the middle class nothing and not add a cent to the deficit. Hey B, how ’bout some details on how that works. I’d love to hear about it.

But no, the media hasn’t seen fit to address that particular idea. Truth? Not really a liberal value.

But that’s not the only thing the media has ignored today. Apparently, our friends at ACORN are making good use of our tax dollars again. They are evidently willing to help pimps set up prostitution houses for under aged, illegal immigrants. I would imagine that most folks might find it interesting that their hard-earned money is being used to sex-traffic minors, but clearly I don’t know what’s newsworthy.

It’s much more important that you be distracted, um, informed about those evil conservatives. We’ll just sweep Van Jones and ACORN under the rug.

Besides, you should be so mad at Joe Wilson that you won’t even notice these other little stories (or the money missing from your pocketbook).

Welcome Communism.

Goodbye free press.

Liberal lies

Soto

Sonia Sotomayor will be confirmed. It’s an inevitability, though not a devastating one. Yes, she will be the typical pro-baby murdering, homosexual agenda, global-warming alarmist (or is it climate change now?) justice that every Washington liberal wants her to be. But hey, she’s replacing a justice (Souter) who had many of the same qualities. So while it’s not a gain, it’s not a loss either.

My main problem with liberals is that they’re liars. They never show the American people what they really stand for because even they know that American people would never stand for them if they did.

Don’t believe me?

Just look at Obama. Here’s a guy who ran for office basically as a fiscal conservative. The bedrock of his economic campaigning was tax cuts for 95% of working Americans. Well, in all fairness, he did deliver. But he failed to mention that his tax cuts would only amount to about $13/pay period on average. And those savings will be destroyed once the man socializes medicine.

Look at what Obama has actually delivered on while in office…$800 billion of totally ineffective stimulus, nationalizing banks, trying to socialize medicine, taking over car companies, pushing cap and trade down our throats. I don’t recall him running on any of these issues. In fact, I can’t remember him even mentioning most of them—at least not in specific terms.

Same for Sotomayor. When you look at her life (before being a Supreme Court nominee) she made statements like the “wise Latina” comment and judgments that indicate a complete disdain for the Constitution. Even Obama said that “the legal process alone will not lead you to a rule of decision…. The critical ingredient is supplied by what is in the judge’s heart.”

Now, like clockwork, Sotomayor is saying she doesn’t agree with Obama’s point of view.

Yeah.

Right.

Lady, you’ve basically said the same yourself. But of course, she now regrets saying it.

Say what you want, but you gotta hand it to liberals. They know America would never go for their agenda. So they campaign like conservatives, then holler “I won, I won” and pretend the victory was some kind of mandate for their socialists, society –controlling, freedom-snatching policies.

Expect more of the same from Sotomayor. Once she gets that lifetime appointment, then she’ll show her true colors.

Obama’s poll numbers

Hey guys, I think I finally figured out why Obama’s personal poll numbers are relatively high (though they’re descending all the time), yet the numbers for his policies are atrocious.

OK, here’s my theory, the Dems, along with help from their Hollywood buds have done a number on America in creating the perception that any criticism of Obama is the result of racist thinking. This effectively places Obama above reproach, which is the most un-American thing you can do in politics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NLwCEaxtENg

Now, never mind the fact that I’m blacker than Obama, and I think his policies stink. So I must be racist against myself, I suppose. Thanks Janeane!

Never mind the fact that conservatives were protesting the Dems’ tax and spend tactics LONG before any of us had even heard the name Barack Hussein Obama.

At any rate, most Americans have unfortunately bought into the lie. So although a majority of Americans will soundly reject Obama’s socialist policies, they are afraid to tie those feelings to him for fear of having some Hollywood socialist show up and label them a racist too.

Gotta love that liberal rationale. Don’t focus on the issues, just call names. Wow! Just when I was starting to miss the third grade.
