Pretty Blue Pill

Liberal lies

Sonia Sotomayor will be confirmed. It’s an inevitability, though not a devastating one. Yes, she will be the typical pro-baby murdering, homosexual agenda, global-warming alarmist (or is it climate change now?) justice that every Washington liberal wants her to be. But hey, she’s replacing a justice (Souter) who had many of the same qualities. So while it’s not a gain, it’s not a loss either.

My main problem with liberals is that they’re liars. They never show the American people what they really stand for because even they know that American people would never stand for them if they did.

Don’t believe me?

Just look at Obama. Here’s a guy who ran for office basically as a fiscal conservative. The bedrock of his economic campaigning was tax cuts for 95% of working Americans. Well, in all fairness, he did deliver. But he failed to mention that his tax cuts would only amount to about $13/pay period on average. And those savings will be destroyed once the man socializes medicine.

Look at what Obama has actually delivered on while in office…$800 billion of totally ineffective stimulus, nationalizing banks, trying to socialize medicine, taking over car companies, pushing cap and trade down our throats. I don’t recall him running on any of these issues. In fact, I can’t remember him even mentioning most of them—at least not in specific terms.

Same for Sotomayor. When you look at her life (before being a Supreme Court nominee) she made statements like the “wise Latina” comment and judgments that indicate a complete disdain for the Constitution. Even Obama said that “the legal process alone will not lead you to a rule of decision…. The critical ingredient is supplied by what is in the judge’s heart.”

Now, like clockwork, Sotomayor is saying she doesn’t agree with Obama’s point of view.

Lady, you’ve basically said the same yourself. But of course, she now regrets saying it.

Say what you want, but you gotta hand it to liberals. They know America would never go for their agenda. So they campaign like conservatives, then holler “I won, I won” and pretend the victory was some kind of mandate for their socialists, society –controlling, freedom-snatching policies.

Expect more of the same from Sotomayor. Once she gets that lifetime appointment, then she’ll show her true colors.

  1. Is William Kristol the canary in the coal mine when it comes to tax reform? The editor of the Weekly Standard , a major force in the conservative movement, encouraged Republicans to break their no-new-taxes pledge and accept Obama’s offer to raise taxes only on wealthy people: “It won’t kill the country if we raise taxes a little bit on millionaires,” he said delicately. He’s not the only one urging the party to be a little more open-minded for the sake of its own survival: former George W. Bush aide Karen Hughes said that if another Republican says something stupid about rape, “I want to personally cut out his tongue,” and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal urged Republicans to “stop being the stupid party.” But Kristol provided a special incentive for wavering Republicans, pointing out that a lot of millionaires “voted Democratic, and half of them live in Hollywood.” If there’s a way to get Republicans to change their minds on tax cuts, it’s to tell them it’s a way to punish liberals.
